Angelito's Ride for the Children of Acuna!

I'll try to keep this as short as possible... When you plan a club ride, there is much to consider. Most of the rides are planned specifically to enjoy a rally or a party.

The run may be to Sturgis, Daytona, Austin, etc... It usually is for one's personal pleasure or to enjoy the fellowship of the brotherhood. When the ride is for something larger

than one's self it takes on added importance. The Acuna Run was a follow up to the run that we went on before. All the efforts that we put into raising the funds and then

coordinating with Phyllis Wunsche for the kids gifts takes a great deal of patience. All the ladies put their heart and soul into putting the gifts together.

Then came the trip.

We were talking about making a trip into Mexico. Not only crossing for the day but staying a couple of nights. The border violence has been reported

all over the world. You had to really think if this is a trip that you really wanted to make. Then came weather reports that heavy rain would drench Texas.

I thought that maybe we should reschedule the trip. I have to give credit to Tortuga who said, "Let's just put it off a day and let the rains pass."

The children of Acuna had circled this day and were waiting for us. This came on the heals of the 2nd anniversary of our little brother Lance "Angelito" Corbin.

We dedicated the run in his honor! God heard our prayers and the skies cleared and off we went.

The attached pictures only tell a small part of the story. Each moment, each event had a special meaning. Meeting with Jon Oxley who recited a prayer as he held

the photo of his beloved grandson, "Angelito", was an appropriate sendoff. I've always said that the best way to really know your brothers and sisters, is

to spend time with them on a trip. Everyone that went, had a similar response, "This is the best trip that I've ever been been on!"

This trip was about the children of Acuna. The children made this special. The looks, the smiles, the hugs and kisses were from above. This was our mission

and we fulfilled it! We have also made a commitment that this is only the beginning. We are forever attached to these children who have been abandoned,

abused and unloved. They crawled, placed their fingerprints and drool all over our scoots but no one complained.

I thank you for joining me and being part of something very special. Many of you could not come but you did contribute to the success of God's Mission.

I truly believe that we are part of Saint Michael's brigade and we will continue to do God's Will!
